There are different ways to password protect your post. You can use plugins or use the default setting of WordPress. Earlier, there was no alternative other than plugins and custom coding. But now you can password protect posts using the settings option. It is very easy and secure. 

In today’s post, I am going to show you how to password protect a page or post in WordPress. After following the post, you will be able to password-protect any post and page of yours.

Password Protecting a Page or Post in WordPress

First login to your dashboard and open the page or post, which you want to protect with a password. After adding all contents, click on the Settings button in the top right corner. From here, find the Visibility option. 

Click on the text ‘Public’ and select visibility as Password Protected. At the password field provide your password and hit enter.

Then click on the update button. 

Now whenever anyone tries to visit the page/post, he has to enter a password. Without the correct password, no one can see the post.
