How to Fix Missing Appearance Menu in WordPress Admin

The appearance menu is one of the crucial options for customizing and managing themes, menus, and widgets. However, you may find that your appearance menu is missing from the admin area. If you don’t know how to fix it, you are in the right place.

In this post, I will show you how to fix the missing appearance menu in the WordPress admin area. After then, you will be able to do it by yourself.

Let’s begin.

Fix The Missing Appearance Menu

Here, I will show you 2 different ways to do it. Method 2 may seem a bit difficult, therefore, it is advised to use method 1 first.

Method 1: Switch Your Theme

This is the easiest way to fix the missing appearance menu in wordpress admin is switching the theme. All you have to do is switch to a theme that doesn’t come with the full site editing feature.

Currently, there are a lot of popular WordPress themes that still don’t come with the full-site editing feature. You can use any of those themes. But keep this in mind, once the full site feature editing is ready by the developer, there will be no option without including it.

Method 2: Use Navigation Block in Site Editor

Some of the modern themes come with full site editing support and don’t let you access the classic navigation menus screen.

But even if you are using a full site editing theme, you can create, add, and edit navigation menus by using the navigation menu block under the site editor.

To do this, navigate to the Appearance -> Editor page.

Click on the Template Parts.

Now, click on the ‘+’ sign above. Name your part (I have named it ‘Navigation Menu’ ) and choose the area as ‘Header’.

Click on the add block button on the top right.

Search for the ‘Navigation’ block, and insert it by dragging it on the page.

If you already have a navigation menu, then it will be automatically added. If you don’t have one, simply create a new one.

You will be able to add items to your navigation menu. Just click on the add button and write the name of your pages or post.

Then your post or page link will be added to the menu.

When you are finished, hit the update button to save your menu and apply it across your WordPress blog.
