Method 1: Adding Ebook Downloads Using Block Editor

With the help of WordPress File Block, you will be able to display your ebooks directly on your page or posts.

First, open the page or post where you want to add your ebook download. Then click on the add block button and search for the ‘File’ block.

Click on the block and insert it. Now, upload your ebook, you can either drag it and drop it on the box or click on the upload button and select the file.

After the upload is complete, you can adjust the settings of your ebook. Click on the settings button on the top right and then the ‘Block’ tab.

If you want to show a preview of your ebook, then keep the ‘Show inline embed’ option toggled. Here, make sure you have enabled the ‘Show download button’ option. This will let your visitors download the ebook from your site. If you disable this option, they will not see any download button.

You will be able to adjust the height of the ebook in pixels. If you like to resize the preview area, then scroll below and adjust it by pulling the circle.

If you want to change the file name, you will see it below the preview.

Click the name and provide the title you want. When you are done customizing, hit the Save Changes or Update button.

Method 2: Adding Ebook Downloads Using Plugin

There are a lot of plugins available to add ebook downloads. Here, I am using ‘Ebook Store‘ plugin. It’s very easy to configure and lets your sell or provide ebooks to your visitors. To add Ebooks

Step 1: Install Ebook Store Plugin

From your dashboard, navigate to Plugins -> Add New and search for ‘Ebook Store’.

Install the plugin, and don’t forget to activate it.

Step 2: Configure the Plugin

Now, from your dashboard, navigate to Settings -> Ebook Store and click on the Paypal tab.

Here, configure the PayPal account by which you will take payment. There are also other settings in the other tabs, configure as you require.

Step 3: Add an Ebook

Now, navigate to the Ebook Store and click on Add New Ebook.

Write the book title and description.

Then scroll below put your price of the ebook, and then upload the file by clicking on the ‘Choose File’ button.

Similarly, add a cover image, ebook preview, and side image. (These are optional.)

Scroll above and hit the publish button. If you intend to create a lot of books, then you may create a category first.

Now copy the shortcode from below.

Step 4: Embed Ebook

Now open the page of the post where you want to add your ebook. Click on the add block button and search for the ‘shortcode’ block.

Paste the shortcode you copied earlier.

Hit the publish/update button and you will see your downloadable ebook.
