You can do this in two ways: without any plugin or with the help of a plugin. Here, I am showing you both methods. Use the one that suits you best.

Embedding Instagram Reels Without Any Plugin

If you like to embed single instagram reel then this method is best. With this method you don’t need to use any plugins. Just follow these steps and then do it yourself. 

Step 1: Copy the Embed Code

Open the reel that you want to embed.

Click on the three-dot button and select the ‘Embed’ option. 

Copy the embed code. 

Step 2: Embed the Instagram Reel

Now open the page/post, where you want to embed Instagram reel. 

Click on the add block button and search for shortcode block.

Insert the block by clicking on it. 

Paste the shortcode inside the box. 

After that, save or update the post. 

Your reel will be now visible to your post. 

Embedding Instagram Reels With the Help of a Plugin

If you plan to embed multiple reels, or reels directly from your profile,  then you have to take help of external plugin. There’s a plugin named Spotlight Social Feeds that helps you to embed Instagram reels on your WordPress website. 

With the free version of the plugin you will be able to embed posts only. To embed reels, you must purchase the pro version of the plugin. After you make the purchase follow the below steps. 

Step 1: Install the Spotlight Plugin

From your dashboard, navigate to Plugins -> Add new Plugin and search for the ‘spotlight’ plugin. 

Click on the ‘Install Now’ button and install it. After the installation is complete, don’t forget to activate the plugin. If you have purchased the pro version, then make sure you activate it. 

Step 2: Create a New Feed

Now, from your dashboard, click on Instagram Feeds. 

Click on ‘My Instagram posts’ and hit the ‘Next step’ button. 

Choose a template you like, here I have chosen ‘Classic’ template and then hit ‘Next step’ button. 

Step 3: Connect Your Instagram Account

In this step you have to connect your Instargram account with the plugin. Click on ‘Connect & Customize’ to start the process. 

You can either connect your personal account or connect your business account. Just click on the relevant connect button. 

Here, I am connecting my personal account. Upon clicking on the button a pop up will appear. 

Hit, continue button. 

Click on the ‘Allow’ button. 

Upon successful connection, your account will be shoen on the right side. 

Step 4: Design Feed

Click on the design tab. Scroll below to the feed options, choose ‘Reels videos only’ from the Types of posts. 

There are other tons of customization options. You can customize your reel design in the way you want. 

Step 5: Embed the Instagram Reel 

To embed the Instagram reel click on the embed tab and copy the shortcode. 

Open the page or post where you want to embed Instagram reel. 

Click on the add block button and search for shortcode block.

Insert the block by clicking on it. 

Paste the shortcode inside the box. 

Then, your Instagram reel will be live on your website.
