How to Use the WordPress Group Block
There are multiple ways to use the WordPress Group block. Among them, we’ll explain the easiest two methods in this section.
Method 01: Adding the Group Block
Open a post/page. Press the Plus (+) icon on your desired position to open the Gutenberg editor. Type Group in the search box. You’ll get the Group block appearing below. Hit on the block.
Select a layout to define how you want to group the custom blocks, whether horizontally or vertically. We have selected the first layout for this tutorial.
It’s now time to start adding blocks one by one. Open the Gutenberg editor again, hitting the Plus (+) icon. Find your desired custom block and add it. For example, we have used the Table block.
Once the Table block is added, take your cursor on the Group icon and click on it. This will show you another Plus (+) icon in the bottom-right corner of the block. Add a new block to the group container by hitting the Plus (+) icon again.
From now on, you can instantly select all the blocks within this container by clicking the Group icon. You may change the group block container layout from the right sidebar pointed out in the image below.
You may also apply the same color on all the blocks within this container from the Style and Customization options on the right sidebar.
Method 02: Converting Multiple Blocks to a Group Block
First, add as many custom blocks as you want on the post/page. Click the Document Overview icon. You will see a sidebar opened on the left side, listing all the custom blocks you have used.
Select all the blocks on the list and press the Group icon.
You’ll see the blocks have been grouped under a parent container. Thus, you can group blocks on the Gutenberg block editor in WordPress.
