Let’s get started!

Step 1: Install the Sliderberg Plugin

First, you need to install and activate the Sliderberg plugin.

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  2. In the search bar on the top right, type “Sliderberg” and press Enter.
  3. Click on “Install Now” and then “Activate” the plugin.

Step 2: Go to the Post/Page Where You Want to Add the Testimonial Slider

Next, navigate to the post or page where you wish to display your testimonial slider. You can either create a new post/page or edit an existing one.

Step 3: Insert the Sliderberg Block

Once you are in the Gutenberg editor of your chosen post or page:

  1. Click on the “+” icon to add a new block.
  2. In the search field that appears, type “Sliderberg”.
  3. Select the “Sliderberg” block from the results.

Step 4: Select the Slider Type

After inserting the Sliderberg block, you’ll be prompted to choose a slider type. Select “Blocks Slider”. This option allows you to create a slider with custom blocks, which is perfect for testimonials.

Step 5: Select a Background Color or a Background Image

Now it’s time to design the look of your individual testimonial slides. You can choose to have a background color or a background image for each slide.

On the right-hand side, under the “Slide Background” section, you’ll see options to either “Upload” a background image or choose a “Background Color” from the color palette. Select your preferred option.

For the sake of this tutorial, we will be using a background color.

Step 6: Add Heading and Body Parts of the Testimonial

With your background set, you can now add the actual testimonial content.

  • Click on “Add a heading…” to enter the title of the testimonial (a short summary).
  • Click on “Add your content here…” to type in the main testimonial text.

Step 7: Add Star Ratings & Name of the Testimonee

Sliderberg doesn’t have a dedicated ‘Star Rating’ block yet. However, you can easily copy and paste star ratings into your testimonial slides to enhance their visual appeal and credibility.

Here are some star rating types you can copy and use within your Sliderberg block:

Below the main testimonial text, you can add the name of the testimonee. For example, “Mozzie, WordPress User” as shown in your image.

Step 8: Duplicate the Slide or Add Another Slide

Once you’ve completed one testimonial slide, you can easily add more:

  • Click on “Add Slide” to create a brand new, empty slide.
  • Click on “Duplicate Slide” to create an exact copy of the current slide, which you can then modify with new testimonial content. This is often faster for consistent formatting.
  • You also have the option to “Delete Slide” if needed.

Step 9: Customize the Slider

Once you’re done creating all the slides for your testimonial slider, you can customize its overall appearance and behavior.

  1. Select the entire Sliderberg block.
  2. From the right-hand side options panel, you’ll find various settings to customize your slider:
    • Width Settings: Adjust the overall width of your slider (e.g., Full width).
    • Animation Settings: Choose the “Transition Effect” (e.g., Slide), set the “Transition Duration” in milliseconds, and select the “Transition Easing”.
    • Autoplay Settings: “Enable Autoplay” for the slider to advance automatically, set the “Autoplay Speed (ms)”, and choose to “Pause on Hover”.
    • Navigation Settings: Configure arrows, dots, or other navigation elements.
    • Advanced: Access additional CSS classes or other advanced options.

Conclusion

And that’s it! You’ve successfully created a dynamic testimonial slider using the Sliderberg plugin in WordPress. Remember to preview your page or post to see your new slider in action before publishing.
