What Is FAQs?
FAQs generally stand for Frequently Asked Questions. And a FAQs Section is a part of a page filled with commonly asked questions and answers to those questions.
Having this section means you are aware of the issues of your customers and you want to provide them better experiences. It also helps the customer support team to reduce the workload.
Sometimes, the FAQs section on your website might be the first point of contact for your visitors. So if you have a good FAQs section, it will help you to engage with your audience.
How To Add FAQs Section To Your WordPress Site
Adding FAQs section in WordPress is very straight forward. All you have to do is using a plugin that has accordion or content toggle functionality.
Here I’ll be using Ultimate Blocks. It’s a Gutenberg Blocks plugin which has more than 15 custom blocks. So it’s not a dedicated accordion plugin. Instead, it also offers other functionalities like Table of Contents, Tabbed Content, Click to Tweet, Testimonial, Countdown and more.
Now let’s find out how to add FAQs section to any WordPress site effortlessly using Ultimate Blocks Plugin.
In the very first step, you need to install the plugin. As it’s a free plugin, you can install it directly from your WordPress dashboard.
Just go WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add New and search for ‘Ultimate Blocks’.
The very first result will be Ultimate Blocks. Then just click on ‘Install Now’ and activate the plugin.
You can also download the plugin from here and upload the plugin.
Once you’ve activated the plugin, now it’s time to add FAQs Section.
Here I’m going to explain two different ways to add FAQs section your WordPress page or post.
- Display FAQs In Accordion Style
- Display FAQs In Table of Contents Style
So let’s get started with the first one.
Using this way you can show your FAQs in Accordion Style. The is the most preferred of adding FAQs section on an WordPress post or page.
Ultimate Blocks plugin has a ‘Content Toggle’ block that allows you to add contents in accordions.
Just go to page or post where you want to add FAQs section and then insert ‘Content Toggle’ block.
Once you drop the block, you’ll get an interface like this –
Here you can change title color, container color and initial state (collapsed or not).
You can add more accordion by clicking on the ‘+’ sign.
The most interesting thing is, you can enable FAQ Schema to show the FAQs in Google SERPs.
As it’s a nested block, you can add images, videos, or anything into this block.
Let’s see a live example of a FAQs section created with this block.
So you can have FAQs section like these by using Ultimate Blocks plugin.
Now let’s see the table of contents style.
If you are going to create a dedicated FAQs page, then you can consider using this style.
This way you can show a huge number of FAQs in a small space and let the users jump to their point of interest only.
And you’ll also get the benefits of adding your FAQs in Google SERPs.
Okay, now let’s see how to display FAQs in Table of Contents style.
At first, create a WordPress page. Just go to Pages > Add New.
Once you’ve created the page, start adding FAQs and use heading tags (h1-h6) on title of the questions. I’d recommend you to use h3 tag.
After adding all the questions, now you need to add the table of contents.
Ultimate Blocks has an advanced ‘Table of Contents’ block. It lets you add a table of contents in any post or page.
Now just enter the ‘Table of Contents’ block. It will automatically generate a table of contents from headings.
And the great part is, you can disclude any headings (h1-h6) that you don’t want to show in the table of contents.
You can also configure things like showing the table of contents in two or three columns, show or hiding the table of contents, etc.
Once you have the table of contents, the users can jump to the question that they want.
That’s it. You are done.
