Embedding Google Docs in WordPress

Just follow these simple steps to embed Google Docs on your WordPress posts and pages.

Step 1: Install EmbedPress Plugin

EmbedPress is the best WordPress embed plugin that lets you embed almost anything like Google Docs, Maps, Slides, YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, and more.

It’s a freemium plugin. The free version is enough to embed Google Docs in your WordPress site.

Just go to your WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add New and search for ‘EmbedPress’. Then install and activate the plugin.

Once you’ve activated the plugin, move to the next step.

Step 2: Publish Your Google Docs

Go to Google Docs and publish the document file that you want to embed on your website.

To publish a Google Doc, simply go to File > Share > Publish to Web.

It will open up a popup window as shown below. Click on the ‘Publish’ button to publish your document.

Once you publish the document, a public link to that document will be available. Copy this link as it will be used when you embed the document.

Now, go to the post or page where you want to embed your Google Docs.

Edit the post/page and click on the ‘+’ plus icon on the top-right corner to add a new Gutenberg block.

Now that you have the EmbedPress plugin installed and activated on your website, search for ‘EmbedPress’ to find its block.

Go ahead and add the Google Docs block in your post. To embed your Google Doc, you’ll have to paste the link of the document that was generated when you published it.

Paste the link and click on the ‘Embed’ button.

That’s it. You’ve successfully embedded a Google Doc in your WordPress site.
