The Countdown block in Ultimate Blocks lets you display a countdown timer on your WordPress posts or pages. But did you know you can also show a custom message after the countdown timer ends? This is a handy feature if you want to notify your visitors when a sale has ended, an event is over, or simply display any follow-up message after the timer expires.
Yet, many users miss this feature because it’s so simple and blends in with the block settings. Here’s how you can set it up in just a few steps:
Step 1: Add the Countdown Block #
- Open the post or page where you want to add your countdown.
- Click the + icon and search for Countdown.
- Add the block to your content area.
Step 2: Set Your Countdown Timer #
- Use the sidebar settings to set your desired countdown expiration date and time.
Step 3: Enter the Custom Expiry Message #
- Directly under the countdown timer, you’ll see a text area labeled: Text to show after the countdown is over
- Click on this text and type your custom message (e.g., “The offer has ended!” or “Stay tuned for our next event!”). Also, align the message to the center, left, or right as needed.
4. (Optional) Style Your Message #
You can use the toolbar above the text area to style the message — bold, italic, add links, etc.
5. Save and Publish #
- Once you’re done, publish or update your post/page.
- When the countdown reaches zero, your custom message will automatically appear in place of the timer!
Common Use Cases #
- Notify users when a flash sale has ended
- Announce that an event is now live or registration is closed
- Direct visitors to another offer or page after a timer ends
That’s it! #
Adding a custom message after your countdown timer expires in Ultimate Blocks is that easy. Next time you set up a countdown, don’t forget to customize the after-timer message for a better user experience!
